The Opportunity

We are building a new business unit focused on helping manufacturing companies in Thailand improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and unlock data-driven decision making.

As a Forward Deployed Data Engineer, you will work directly with manufacturing clients to understand operational processes, integrate production data from multiple systems, and build data pipelines and analytical models that drive measurable business impact.

This is a highly cross-functional role combining data engineering, analytics, and client engagement. You will act as the bridge between manufacturing operations and advanced analytics solutions.

You will operate in an early-stage, high-impact environment, where your work will help shape both the analytics solutions delivered to clients and the underlying data platform that powers them.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving messy real-world data problems and building systems that directly improve operational outcomes.

What You Will Do

Client Engagement & Deployment

• Work closely with manufacturing clients to understand production workflows, operational constraints, and key performance indicators (KPIs)

• Build strong relationships with plant managers, operations leaders, and technical stakeholders

• Translate operational problems into structured analytical and data engineering solutions

• Collaborate with client IT teams to ensure reliable data access and integration

Data Investigation & Engineering

• Explore and understand complex ERP, MES, and production databases

• Identify relevant data sources across production systems, ERP platforms, IoT sensors, and manual operational processes

• Build and maintain SQL- and Python-based data pipelines to collect, transform, and validate operational datasets

• Improve data quality, reliability, and accessibility for analytics and machine learning use cases

• Investigate inconsistencies, missing data, and operational anomalies within client datasets

Analytics & Modelling

• Develop analytical models and data-driven insights to optimize:

  • Production throughput

  • Downtime reduction

  • Inventory and supply chain efficiency

  • Yield improvement

  • Cost reduction initiatives

• Support experimentation and validation of analytical models in real operational environments

• Build dashboards and data visualizations to communicate insights clearly to operational stakeholders

Implementation & Impact

• Translate analytical insights into actionable operational improvements

• Work with client teams to operationalize analytics recommendations

• Support change management and process improvements within manufacturing environments

• Measure and report business impact such as efficiency gains, cost savings, or cycle time reductions

Requirements

Technical Skills

• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases

• Experience using Python for data analysis, automation, or data pipeline development

• Experience building data pipelines, ETL processes, or analytics workflows

• Familiarity with statistical analysis, forecasting, optimization, or machine learning techniques

• Experience with data visualization or dashboarding tools is a plus

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus

• Experience with data transformation tools such as dbt or similar frameworks is an advantage

Manufacturing / Operational Exposure

• Experience working with manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or industrial datasets is highly preferred

• Familiarity with ERP, MES, or IoT-based production systems is a strong advantage

• Understanding of common manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, throughput, downtime, or yield is beneficial

Consulting & Communication

• Comfortable working onsite with clients and operating in ambiguous environments

• Strong problem-solving mindset and structured thinking

• Ability to explain complex analytical concepts in clear, practical business terms

• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and operational stakeholders

• Comfortable working in Thai manufacturing environments
